Black Jack and I

I just have to share about my experiences and lessons with Black Jack, a Mustang. I got tired of everyone at the horse farm enjoying my daughter on trail rides and I never could go because I wasn't "experienced or taught". So the Lord open a door for me to buy Black Jack at a very inexpensive price and I had a dear christian friend (horse trainer) give me lessons on riding and horsemanship. I was so thankful for her because not only was I learning to ride but she and I both were learning many spiritual lessons. I found out real quickly that it isn't as easy as you think especially at my age. You know there is a saying, it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks well.... I'm finding that out real fast. One thing I've learned horses pick up your moods, feelings and fear and you better be the one in control or you will get a rude awakening and a sore rump. Also, you have to keep your cool, self-control, and be one step ahead of yourself and your horse along with lots of coordination. I always have been a multitasker but I'm finding out that I'm losing some of that ability too! The first week was a peice of cake and all went well. The second week is when I had my fall off the horse and thought I was going to die. Blacky went one way and I went the other and I landed on my hip and elbow and also knock the wind out of me. I didn't get back on which was a big no-no but I was hurting along with my pride. The next day fear set in along with a sprang ankle....not looking good here. However, my instructor was patient and encouraging, and my stubborness won out and I continued with my lessons. It has been over 6 weeks now and my confidence is coming back, Blacky and I are working together better and through all of this I see God teaching me many areas of improvement in self control, trust and determination. Which proves one big thing, God can use anything (especially horses) to teach his children big lessons. Great are you Lord and greatly are you to be praised. Thank-you for special people like Susan and Mike that help people learn to be safe with horses and to enjoy them. Thank-you for my sweet little horse!

Its all about You Nichole and France at this Moment

I am overwelmed with excitement in what Nichole is experiencing and wishing I could be there too. France in all its sights, sounds, and people in 2005 versus 1964 when I was there. There is so much different and alot of it should include the technology of today and the communications we have that we didn't have then when I was in France. Times are changing and the Lord knows what will be in the future. How he uses us and allows us to be involve in what he is doing is the exciting part. Remember for all of us, to see France through His eyes too and not only yours!

I'm not sure if I'm much into this blogging or not but I had to sign in to respond to Nichole's blog: A dream come true! So if anyone cares to hear what I think respond and I might continue...hehehe.....
