Hope Never Fails

I have been following and listening to “for King and Country”. for several years.  I love these brothers (Joel and Luke Smallbone) voices, how they blend and their music, words and performances brings excellences for all the fans and for the Glory of God. They are consistent in their message and are high energy performers. Their genre is international Pop/Rock but in my humble opinion a inspirational twist. I went to Dallas to visit my daughter and had the privilege of seeing them at First Baptist Church performing at the time several of my favorite songs  “The Proof of Your Love” and “Hope is what we crave”.  For King and Country are growing more popular every year. Their inspiring music is heard on the radio, in movies and all over. They are on tour throughout the year and you can follow them at their link: http://www.forkingandcountry.com.

In the later part of 2012, Luke was diagnosed with digestive disorder but he didn’t think much about it and continued on tour and got sicker.  I wish I could have shared our story because my daughter has had crohn's disease since she was 16 and you don’t get rid of it … you manage it.  Luke writes, “… I got down to around 125 pounds. I had hit my lowest of lows, and for a guy that is 6’4 and that frail, I truly looked like I just got out of a concentration camp. This obviously led to needing to come off the road and shut it down for a while to focus on my health.” - See more at: http://www.ccmmagazine.com/article/for-hope-luke-smallbone-finds-grace-in-the-darkness/#sthash.kNcfnPnf.dpuf  When all said and done, Luke can say like the song he sings,Hope is what we crave, and that will never change…”

I share this video because I know from experience; it takes bravery, tenacity, faith, longsuffering and so much more to go through life and difficulties.  How you look at it, walk through it, and find a way to deal with the reasons builds character, builds a story that when shared can do powerful things and most of all help others. I believe that God wants to use our stories, especially when it comes from your honest with yourself heart and you are able to show the victory through it. Thank you Luke for sharing your story and the music!

Update from Cindy Martini ... Bite Size Steps!

Wow, Time has flown since I started this blog site and got into Internet Marketing.  Matter of fact, I just deleted a quite a few of my blogs of failed business attempts for one reason or another. They say you will never be successful unless you have quite of few failures under your belt ... well I must be getting closer to my Dreams ... right!!!  I have been an online marketer since 2010, I have been through the "empty nest", husband lost his job, started a new business, and still trying to figure out my niche so I can be successful online...lol !    I have learned sales funnels, capture pages, automated emails, to social media galore. My favorite is FaceBook and Pinterest. I am at the doors of 60 years old next year, and fear has never really been a word I would look at for long ... however it has become a sporadic friend of late.

My motto is to never, never, never to give up! So far ... I am living up to that motto. Not to say, I haven't been depressed, frustrated, confused and a plethora of other words I don't think I want to mention. So, to get to the point, for today's words of wisdom is this: Keep on keeping on but do it with a plan, with a team of like-minded online friends, have one of them keep you accountable and motivated and keep trying new things. Eventually, I am told something will catch and you WILL be on your way to success. I also would like to add ... make sure you have a plan of "bite size steps" toward what success looks like to you.

What Leadership Looks Like !

I am not an expert in leadership and I don’t have it down pat but I know what it doesn’t look like! I can say that I have been a leader as a mother, in my church as a children’s minister, as a director for a non-profit, as an apartment manager and currently as a leader of a small group of teens. Also, I am currently leading in several online business with a team of 30+ members. I want to share some thoughts I have seen to be true leadership and what it looks like to me. A few months ago, I watched one of the best Super Bowl games I have ever seen . It was such a close scoring game! Tom Brady led his team, the Patriots, against a formidable opponent the New York Giants. I really did think the Patriots would score 10+ against the Giants. Alas, I was wrong. Tom never gave up. He led his team in excellence even to the final seconds of the game! Even when his receivers dropped 2 passes Tom kept pushing his team to win even to the final “Hail Mary” pass at the end with hope to all hopes that the receivers would make the catch like they usually do. Tom showed great strength in leadership in expecting his teammates to seize that moment and win the game. It takes courage, empowerment, skill and determination to get a touch down in less than a minute. As we all know that didn’t happen but everybody was hoping and expecting to see that great moment. That’s huge leadership even if it doesn’t go the way you want it… expecting a miracle at that moment and seeing an event that just blows your mind.

Another example of amazing leadership is my pastor Perry Noble who leads Newspring Church in Anderson SC. Our church has grown to over 26,000 in attendance on multiple campuses across the state in less than 12 years. Grant you this is a God thing but God is using a funny, humble, down to earth, southern man, from humble upbringing, with lots of baggage like all of us to lead one of the biggest churches in the south! He weekly brings to the owners/members and visitors current, relevant, and amazing words that bring the people to a better understanding how God through His son wants a relationship with all mankind… not a religion with rules and regs but a loving relationship that reciprocates to God and each other. Perry is rapidly becoming a “Leader of Leaders”. He leads a huge staff of Pastors and support staff across the state. He speaks at leadership conferences all over the world. He is currently writing a book and actively mentors other pastors through his leadership network. This is an excerpt from his blog (see link for more http://t.co/TIY3i9pf ) as follows: ” The goal of a leader isn’t to keep people happy but to keep people moving, which often times makes them not happy! The goal of a leader isn’t to get something out of people but rather to invest in them! The goal of a leader isn’t to DO all of the work, but to DELEGATE the work to the right people who can do it better than them anyway. The goal of a leader isn’t to merely identify problems but rather to initiate the solution to the problems. The goal of a leader isn’t to declare what he is against but rather define what he is for. The goal of a leader isn’t to fight but to figure out how to learn from those who have different opinions… and are actually willing to sit down and in love, talk about the issues. The goal of a leader isn’t to be perfect but rather to give his best effort, knowing that he falls incredibly short unless God is involved. The goal of a leader isn’t to model perfection but rather to admit weaknesses, mistakes and shortcomings. The goal of a leader isn’t to solve every problem but rather to seek the counsel of those who know how to fix the problem. The goal of a leader isn’t to tear down but rather to build up. The goal of a leader isn’t to avoid tough conversations and situations but rather to take them head on with both conviction and compassion! The goal of a leader isn’t to wish for more time but rather to use his time wisely. The goal of a leader isn’t to make excuses but rather to make progress. The goal of a leader isn’t to get bitter but to get better when faced with an “opportunity for improvement.” The goal of a leader isn’t to be envious but rather to be a student of all that God is blessing. The goal of a leader isn’t to be secluded but rather to surround himself with the right time. The goal of a leader isn’t to be original but rather to understand that there really is nothing new under the sun! The goal of a leader isn’t to restrain the people he works with but rather to figure out how to UNLEASH them! Just a few goals I am working on personally!” Perry Noble
In conclusion, I can follow great leaders like these and so many more through out history, even my deceased dad, but I also want my life to live out and honor them as a leader that can hold my head up and with all good conscience leading others to be better than they ever could dream to be. I heard somewhere that a leader is someone who believes in you and gets you to believe in yourself! May my and your leadership look like that and may we leave worthy footprints for those to follow.

Between the payoff there is always a process!

I want to write more on things I am learning in the online world as a Network/Social Marketer. My journey, process, learning curve, and experience in this huge business are slow but sure. I just finished a book that helped me immensely in my faith (activated) in life and my business. "There is a story behind the glory! Between the payoff there is always a process!" These quotes are from a great book..."Sun Stand Still", by Steven Furtick! Honesty, good work ethics, determination and being "real" in the relationships and the selling of your online opportunity is hard to keep in balance and true to yourself. I am finding that some of my close friends and mentors in this business feel that I talk too much and give too much information... imagine that ;) .... and I am too honest to a fault...and they are right. I am one of those feely type people and generally upbeat but when I am not...oh boy...I need to not be on the phone. I am a real easy "read" personality wise so I am better off to keep to myself when I am down. Also, professionalism is so important and I could use some polishing on that area...thank God, He isn't through with me yet and there is a lot out there to read to help in that department! The balance I am talking about is being real, of good character versus learning techniques of closing, salesmanship, upbeat, super positive...etc...
To me, those things are important but I have to be pleasing to God first than to man. In some cases I might even be offensive because of my faith. I am learning for me and my "being true to myself and faith" not compromising and being faithful to what I want people to see which is the real Cindy Martini. For those who join my team, they can count on me (through the grid of my faith) to give the truth, give good ethical advice, be a good listener, and be available, to not be afraid or be hurt because their opinion might be different than mine, and also look out for their best interest over mine. Also they will know up front if I don't know the answer I will find it and I do not have the corner of the market on being always "Right". To the best of my ability, I hope my team can depend on me every time!
To get to the main point and to encourage my readers, for the payoff in your spiritual walk or earning income and being successful there is ALWAYS A PROCESS. Everyone knows as a "newbie" in anything one is pursuing there is the learning time, failing, growing and experience earned. The hours spent working it or applying it to your life can be repetitive, boring, humbling and painstakingly tough. In my humble opinion business, spiritual and personal growth goes together and should not be different. Be true to oneself. Be who you are and be aware of your strengths, gifts and talents and use them in working your business and don't take on what you cannot handle. Be the individual that you are and daily keep polishing and improving to be the person you want to be in character and deeds. Eventually, you will find out you will reap many blessings of friendship as well as success in your business. Another note to bring to the table, build a team that has different strengths (also they have weaknesses...we all do) and as the team learns to work together... building the whole and not just individually. In online business "the down line" are people with hopes and dreams like yourself so communicate regularly, be honest, not negative, and find solutions together. I have learned one thing for sure...YOU ARE AS SUCCESSFUL IF YOUR DOWNLINE TEAM IS TOO! Isn't that also true in the thing called “Life” and the journey?
